DESCRIPTION:10 Canadian Premieres! \nMultiple GRAMMY® nominated pianist Nadia Shpachenko will present the Canadian Premiere of works from her upcoming CD on Sunday\, March 18th at 3:00pm in a special pre-release concert at Brandon University School of Music’s Lorne Watson Recital Hall. Shpachenko will perform works from her new World Premieres album “Quotations and Homages\,” to be released by Reference Recordings on April 6\, 2018. The recital will feature newly-written works inspired by a variety of earlier composers and pieces\, from Mozart to Brahms to Stravinsky to Messiaen to Carter to Gubaidulina to The Velvet Underground. In a program both serious and lighthearted\, older works will be brought to new light through piano/s\, electronics and multimedia by contemporary composers Daniel Felsenfeld\, Tom Flaherty\, Vera Ivanova\, Missy Mazzoli\, Nick Norton\, Isaac Schankler\, Peter Yates\, Jack Van Zandt\, and Adam Borecki. \nhttps://www.brandonu.ca/music \n
